Founded in 2011, Partners in Health Canada (PIH Canada) is a sister organization of Partners in Health (PIH), a U.S. based charity. Zanmi Lasante’s walls were breached in September 2023 and an armed gang opened fire inside Hopital Universitaire de Mirebalais, Zanmi Lasante’s 350-bed teaching hospital. After recovering access to the hospital, Zanmi Lasante installed 2,413 solar panels at Hopital Universitaire de Mirebalais. The charity treated 6,590 children for malnutrition through Zanmi Lasante’s network of hospitals and clinics.

The charity reports there are over 1,000 patients currently enrolled in its mental health care. Since 2014 PIH Liberia has performed over 2,000 lifesaving surgeries.

The remaining 4% of program costs were spent in Canada and Lesotho.
