OVERVIEW
About Northview Community Church:
Northview Community Church is a 0-star charity. It is not financially transparent and has a D+ results reporting grade, which is below average. Its overhead spending is 4%, which is not within Ci’s reasonable range. Its reserve funds can cover program costs for two years, which is within Ci’s reasonable range. Read Ci’s report before donating.
Founded in 1980, Northview Community Church (NCC) is a religious charity that aims to convert individuals to Christianity and become followers of Jesus Christ. NCC conducts services at five locations in Abbotsford, British Columbia: Downes Road, Central Abbotsford, East Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack. The charity reports that while 7-8% of Canadians claim to be evangelical Christians, only 3-4% are actively engaged in a local church.
The charity spent $10.3m on its programs and grants in the fiscal year ending June 2024 (F2024). NCC has 16 ministries that each serve a different purpose to help various communities learn about Jesus Christ and help spread the word of God. These communities include youth, seniors, women, men, and other individuals around the world. It conducts many activities such as youth programming, counselling, church planting, workshops, global trips and group meetings.
Charity Intelligence only found data for three of NCC’s ministries: Middle School Youth, Global Missions, and Northview Leadership Institute.
NCC’s Middle School Youth ministry aims to teach grade 6-8 students about Christianity and help them form social relationships through small groups and activities. As of August 2025, it runs three Middle School Youth Programs.
NCC’s Global Missions ministry organizes short-term trips to help spread the word of God across different nations. NCC organized two Global Missions trips in 2024: Nepal in June and South Asia in October.
NCC’s Northview Leadership Institute provides religious education programs for community leaders, undergraduates, and graduate students to build biblical foundations and leadership skills for lifelong ministry. As of August 2025, it offers three graduation programs.

Finances
Northview Community Church is not financially transparent. Its audited financial statements are not posted on its website nor provided when requested. Charity Intelligence received NCC’s financial statements from the CRA Charities Directorate.
Although NCC's audited financial statements provide some disclosure on how much it spent on program and administrative expenses, it did not break out its staffing costs between these activities. This means NCC follows line-item costing, which is not a best practice. Given this, Ci referred to the charity’s T3010 filing with the CRA Charities Directorate to report this allocation.
NCC received $14.6m in Canadian donations in F2024, which is 93% of total revenue. This is a 15% increase from the $12.7m in donations in F2023. It spent $10.3m on its programs and grants in F2024, which is 65% of revenue; $8.4m went to programs and it granted $1.9m. Its top three grant recipients were Multiply Network ($413k), Mennonite Educational Institute Society ($191k), and Word of Life Fellowship Canada Incorporated ($183k). NCC recorded a surplus of $4.8m in F2024 (31% of revenue).
NCC spent $572k on administrative costs, which is 4% of revenue. The charity did not report fundraising costs. This means its total overhead spending is 4%. For every dollar donated to NCC, 96 cents are available to go to the cause. This is not within Ci’s reasonable range of 65-95. Since overhead costs are below 5%, Ci reasons that the charity is either not spending enough on its total overhead costs, or it may not be disclosing these costs appropriately.
NCC has $20.6m in reserve funds (cash and investments). NCC can cover 201% or two years of its annual program and grant costs with its reserve funds. This is within Ci’s reasonable range.
This report is an update that has been sent to Northview Community Church for review. Changes and edits may be forthcoming.
